The 2020 Dannie Heineman Prize for Mathematical Physics has been awarded to UCI Distinguished Professor of mathematics Svetlana Jitomirskaya. She is the second woman to receive the award since its establishment in 1959 and the first woman to receive it on her own, following Cornell University’s Yvonne Choquet-Bruhat who co-received the prize in 2003 with James W. UCI Starts The NEw Year By Modernizing Its Payroll Systems

The University of California launched an update which modernized its payroll system with its new project, UCPath, on Jan. 1, 2020. These changes replaced the nearly 40-year-old system that had been in place, meaning that all UC employees ensure that their personal information is up to date within the system. This includes student employees, such as Teaching Assistants, on campus food court employees, and library assistants.

Soar Hosts Their Second Annual Puppies and Pathfinders Event To Help Students De-stress

The Student Outreach and Retention Center (SOAR) hosted their second Puppies and Pathfinders event to help students learn healthy coping skills for stress in the Cross Cultural Center on Thursday, Dec. 5. During the event featuring therapy dogs, students were also able to de-stress by interacting with peer educators, using DIY stress balls and participating in an essential oil workshop.
